Our goal for personal freedom is based on 2 Timothy 2:21 – Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
Please understand, the purpose of this lesson is not to bring condemnation for past sins. It is for your freedom! There is no need for guilt for past sins and transgression at all. We want you to bring it all to the foot of the cross at the right time! If there is something here that you feel you are not ready to do yet, wait for the Lord to bring conviction. You will have longer lasting results if you wait until you feel you are ready, but please just don’t wait past when the Lord is dealing with you on a particular subject/sin.
Before we go through an initial cleansing process, let me enter into warfare for all readers: In the name of Yeshua (Jesus), I command all monitoring spirits to leave those who are reading this post now and forever; in addition, I bind every evil spirit that is still present in or around them; I forbid these evil spirits to manifest or interfere with this person’s repentance; prayer of salvation to enter Elohim’s (God’s) covenant; ability to gain freedom in Messiah (Christ); and healing of their body, soul, and spirit. I ask Elohim to continually cover each of us with the blood of Yeshua. In the name of Yeshua, I ask Elohim to immediately send holy angels to them to provide ongoing protection, to assist with deliverance and healing of each person, and aid in the permanent removal of all evil spirits.
In a Nutshell:
Personal freedom can often be achieved by renouncing generational and personal sins, soul ties, covenants with Satan and his kingdom, inner vows, etc. Inner healing is an additional, separate process that we will deal with in a future post.
Sometimes people can experience freedom and inner healing immediately; however, others may experience it in layers and/or over time. No matter how one experiences freedom and healing, they must learn to regularly take every thought captive and put to death the desires of the flesh while learning to walk in the Spirit and develop the fruit of the Spirit in their lives.
Background Information:
Curses can come from two basic sources – Elohim or Satan (which also includes demons and witchcraft). When curses come from Elohim, they are a result of sin. Curses are a form of Elohim’s discipline to bring His people back into proper relationship with Him. They are known as curses of the law (Leviticus 26:14-46; Deuteronomy 28:15-68). To break these kinds of curses, sin must first be confessed and renounced. Then, we can ask Elohim to remove them.
The law of sin and death is the principle that lawlessness leads to death; even Paul said, “the wages of sin is death” (Galatians 3:13, 6:8; Romans 6:23; 8:2). Because of Elohim’s grace and Messiah’s death on the cross, the law of the Spirit of life has set believers free from the law of sin and death. However, various forms of the other curses of the law can often still be in effect and need to be addressed.
Exodus 20:5, 34:7; Numbers 14:18; and Deuteronomy 5:9 tell us that Elohim visits the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate Him. In addition, Deuteronomy 23:2 says, “No one born of a forbidden union may enter the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of his descendants may enter the assembly of the Lord. Therefore, we must renounce generational sin and trespasses down to the fourth generation at minimum, and for sexual immorality to the tenth generation, as well as our own sins and trespasses. This should specifically include all forms of sexual immorality (as defined in Leviticus 18), idolatry, shedding of blood/murder, substance abuse, and all forms of witchcraft (including certain toys/games), as well as general breaking of Elohim’s other commandments.
Examples of renouncing personal and generational sin are found in Ezra 9:6-15; Daniel 9:4-19; Jeremiah 14:20-22, so take time to read over these legitimate examples. We will do this in a more specific way shortly.
Proverbs 26:2 – Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, a curse that is causeless does not alight. Based on this verse, other kinds of curses should not be able to fall on us without a reason; however, many people suffer curses from Satan, his demons, and witchcraft for no apparent reason. These can simply be broken in the name of Yeshua. If there is a cause, such as a trespass against someone, that may need to be made right (or at least an attempt should be made) before the curse can be broken in the name of Yeshua. Depending on what took place, this may require some form of restitution.
Soul ties are ties created between the souls of people who have engaged in sexual immorality outside of marriage, as well as between some people who have close, dependent, emotional, non-sexual relationships. It is important for us to renounce and break all ungodly soul ties, as well as renounce and sever all sexual relationships other than those with our current spouses. There have been other instances when breaking spiritual links is required when things begin to go awry after beginning a relationship with someone who may have a hidden spiritual problem of some kind.
Covenants and dedications: When we establish a relationship with Messiah Yeshua, we are entering into a covenant with Elohim. Those who have engaged in other religions (via prayer, worship, eating food sacrificed to idols/gods/demons, offering tokens or sacrifices, etc.), as well as those who have practiced any form of witchcraft have entered covenants with demons and Satan. Several people have even participated in marriage ceremonies with Satan; there are around 4-10 living brides of Satan worldwide at any given time. If you are one of these people, you can be set free!! Babies and young children are often dedicated to the gods of this world. These forms of idolatry, covenants, dedications, or agreements with Satan must be renounced and broken in the name of Yeshua.
Inner vows: Sometimes, as a result of trauma – including various kinds of abuse, a tragic experience, or a broken trust issue, etc. – people often make inner vows or negative judgments using the word “always” and/or “never.” These often result in unforgiveness, bitterness, fear, and inability to freely enjoy life and relationships with other people to the fullest. It is important to renounce and break these inner vows in the name of Yeshua, as well as forgive those who sinned against you, so you can experience freedom.
Laying on of hands prematurely: Some people have received ungodly, demonic impartations due to allowing a spiritually contaminated person to lay hands on them (1 Timothy 5:22). People should be very careful who they allow to lay hands on them. Often this practice is for imparting spiritual gifts and for healing, but it is also often done during deliverance. People should not allow just anyone to lay hands them for prayer. People who lay hands on others should be thoroughly vetted by leadership to make sure they don’t have anything that could be transmitted to others. Be aware that this is not always done. When you allow someone to lay hands on you, you are submitting to that person’s authority and yielding yourself to receive whatever spirit – good or bad – that they have.
Occultic or contaminated objects: Sometimes certain objects can have demons attached to them for one reason or another. If you have occultic objects, please get rid of them. They can set you apart for destruction in one way or another. You can pray over other objects that you sense may have something negative attached to them and ask God to remove any possible contamination. They can cause people to have restless sleep or bad dreams if they are in your bedroom among other things.
Please read through the following warning and prayer. Decide which things you are ready to renounce, so that you do not create a worse problem for yourself as alluded to in Luke 11:24-26. Be sure to come back to renounce the rest of what the Lord is convicting you of as soon as possible using the prayer below.
Warning: Once doors to your spiritual enemies have been shut, do not let them back in by engaging in previous sinful behavior.
Luke 11:24-26 When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. 26 Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.
Please take time now to cleanse yourself from what is dishonorable:
(Please pray the following out loud) Father, I praise Your holy name, and I thank You for all things. I renounce all generational and personal sins and trespasses including all forms of sexual immorality, idolatry, shedding of blood/murder, substance abuse, all forms of witchcraft (including what I thought was insignificant, such as certain toys/games, etc.), and all other violations of your commandments in the name of Yeshua. I renounce and break all ungodly soul ties in the name of Yeshua. I break and renounce every ungodly covenant and dedication I have ever made and/or that my ancestors have ever made over me in the name of Yeshua. I break and renounce every inner vow I have ever made in the name of Yeshua. I renounce any time I have been hasty in allowing someone to lay hands on me, which allowed me to receive something not from You.
I take back any license I have given to the enemy as a result of my sins and trespasses.
Please loose me now from every curse resulting from generational or personal sin that clings to my life. I break all other curses operating in my life in the name of Yeshua. I command every evil spirit that has attached itself to me or come into my life for any reason to leave me now and forever in the name of Yeshua. If necessary, I ask for Elohim’s holy angels to take them away where they can’t bother me or anyone ever again. (Take a deep breath and exhale!)
(Continue praying) Lord, please create within me a pure heart. Please cover me with the blood of Yeshua and allow the anointing of the Holy Spirit to rest on me and fill any empty places within me. Please permanently loose me from all my cravings for the drugs I have abused in the past. Lord, please heal my body (including my DNA), soul, and spirit. Help me to walk in the Spirit and develop the fruit of the Spirit in my life. Help me to monitor my thoughts, take every thought captive, and make them obedient to Messiah. Help me not give in to the desires of the flesh. Help me to submit myself to You and to resist the devil, so he will flee from me.
Please bless me abundantly. Lord, help me to love you with my whole heart, soul, and mind, and to love my neighbor as myself. I offer myself to You as a living sacrifice. Please lead me in your paths of righteousness forever.
Show me whatever is not pleasing to You that is in my home, so I can remove it and/or pray over it to break off all demonic contamination. Help me to completely purge my home of evil and consecrate it to You as soon as possible. In Yeshua name I pray, Amen.
What you have just done is only an initial cleansing process. You must keep yourself cleansed on an ongoing basis through confession and repentance whenever you realize you have sinned. In the meantime, keep reading the Scriptures daily, so your mind can be washed with the water of the Word as you walk according to the leading of the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).
Highway to Holiness
