Leviticus – Click on the blue hyperlinks to download the pdf file for the parashot.

Vayikra through half of Sh’mini 1-10 – This looks at Vayikra – He Called (Leviticus 1:1-5:26 [6:7]), Tzav – Give an order (Leviticus 6:1 [8] – 8:36), Sh’mini – Eighth (This is normally, Leviticus 9:1-11:47; however, we will stop at Leviticus 10:20). In Vayikra, YHVH, through Moses, gave instructions for the different types of Levitical offerings: whole burnt offering, grain offering, peace offering, sin offering, and guilt offering. Tsav contains the commands given to the priests (kohanim) — the kohen’s offerings, thanksgiving, consecration, purification, elevation. In the first part of Sh’mini, the first sacrifices are offered, Nadab and Abihu died. Last edited 2/28/21.

Tazria Tzara’at & Metzora – This looks at Tazria – She conceives (Leviticus 12:1 – 13:59) and Metzora – Persons afflicted with tzara’at (Leviticus 14:1 – 15:33). Tazria covers the evaluation of tazria/leprosy.

Metzora covers the cleansing and purification of the metzora/leper, as well as unclean male and female discharges. Last edited 11/19/2017.

Acharei Mot – Kedoshim – This looks at Acharei Mot – After the Death (Leviticus 16:1-18:30) and K’doshim – Holy People (Leviticus 19:1-20:27). Acharei Mot looks at the instructions for the Day of Atonements, the sanctity of blood, and laws of sexual immorality.

Kedoshim describes how to be holy because YHVH is holy — various commandments associated with that, as well as punishments for not keeping aspects of the covenant. Last edited 12/9/2017.

Emor-Bechukkotai – This looks at Kedoshim again, Emor – Speak, B’har – On Mount, and Bechukkotai – By My Regulation (Leviticus 19-27). Emor instructs the priests to be clean because YHVH dwells among them. It gives instructions for the appointed times (moedim/feasts) of YHVH — Sabbath, New Moon, Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonements, and Tabernacles.

B’har discusses Jubilee, dwelling in the land with YHVH, and redemption. In Bechukkotai, the people are encouraged to walk in YHVH’s statutes. Blessings for keeping the covenant and curses for breaking the covenant are discussed. How to redeem people and property are discussed. Last edited 1/10/2018.
