Bereshit This looks at Bereshit – In the Beginning (Genesis 1:1-6:8). It includes creation, Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel. Last edited 9/22/18.

Lech Lecha This looks at Lech Lecha – Get Yourself Out (Genesis 12:1 – 17:27). Abram is sent to a land he did not know. YHVH makes a covenant with Abraham in which circumcision is the sign of the covenant. Last edited 3/20/17.

VaYera This looks at VaYera – He Appeared (Genesis 18:1-22:24). YHVH promised a son to Abraham and Sarah. Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed; Lot and his daughters are delivered; and Isaac is born. Abraham bound Isaac, but a ram is offered in his place. Last edited 3/20/17.

Chayei Sarah This looks at Chayei Sarah – Sarah’s Life (Genesis 23:1-25:18). Sarah died and was buried; Rebekah became Isaac’s wife; Abraham remarried. Last edited 3/20/17.

Tol’dot This looks at Toldot – History/Generations (Genesis 25:19 – 28:9). Isaac’s life events mirror his father’s; he encounters YHVH at Beersheva. Jacob and Esau were born; Esau sold his birthright to Jacob; Jacob deceives his father and gets his brother’s blessing. Isaac sent Jacob to Laban in Haran. Last edited 3/20/17.

Vayetze This looks at Vaytze – He Went Out (Genesis 28:10-32:3 [2]). Jacob went to Haran, worked for his uncle Laban, got married to Leah and Rachel, and had children. Jacob left Haran with his family in order to return home. Last edited 3/20/17.

VaYishlach This looks at VaYishlach – He Sent (Genesis 32:4[3]-36:43). Jacob sent gifts ahead to Esau and asked for his forgiveness. He was received by Esau but did not remain with him. Dinah was raped by Shechem. YHVH promised that the land promised to Abraham and Isaac would go to Jacob. Rachel and Isaac died.  Last edited 3/20/17.

VaYeshev This looks at VaYeshev – He Continued Living/Dwelling (Genesis 37:1 – 40:23). Jacob settled in the land. Joseph is sold and taken to Egypt. Judah has two sons by his daughter-in-law. Jacob is falsely accused of sexual misconduct and is put in prison. Joseph interprets the dreams of the baker and the cup bearer, and interpreted Pharaoh’s dream. As a result of a famine, Joseph is reunited with his family in Egypt. Last edited 3/20/17.
